My first Shanghai trip to China is an eye opener to me. Certainly changes the way we planned for our next holiday. The cleanliness, high-tech and security in placed really impressed me.
The shopping places and buildings are majestic with vibrancy of LEDs that lights up the city at night, lighted pedestrian crosswalk and cashless system are all amazing. We went on a 6 days trip, commute mostly by metro with 2-3 times via local taxi. We’ve covered a few interesting must visit places in Shanghai :
[Journey begin via Singapore Airline | XinTianDi | Tian Zhi Fang | Zhu Jia Jiao | Yu Garden | City God Temple of Shanghai | Shanghai Natural History Museum | Nanjing Road (Shopping Places) | New World | Bund Sightseeing Tunnel | The Bund (Wai Tan) | Shanghai Tower ]
We stayed at two hotels : The Langham Xintiandi and Fairmont Peace Hotel. Both located at a very interesting place. The Langham is one at a timeless style in Old Shanghai where old meets new. Fairmont is one luxurious Art-Deco masterpiece hotel. As a landmark for over 80 years and it is situated at the famous Bund promenade and shopping area on Nanjing Road, it is a must-visit place to be even if you are not staying there.
Here we are at The Langham Xintiandi
I really love Xintiandi, wish I could stay there for a longer period of time. As a traveller, I find the affluent car-free shopping, eating and entertainment district is tranquil to walk by while enjoying a touch of European style building in mix of old and new.
The Bund lighted up from evening with mirror-like reflection in the water. It’s simply amazing to watch the surrounding turned glittery.
Shanghai Tower stunning LEDs lights that glitz high up in the sky with rotating Welcome to Shanghai text.
One of my favourite view high up at Shanghai Tower, 118th floor observatory deck.
I will be sharing more in other post on my Shanghai trip soon. Hope you like what you are reading. Have you been to Shanghai too? Let me know if you find it as impressive as I did.
